The teen at the center of the Jena 6 case was arrested for shoplifting. He then tried to kill himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. A young man who could make anything of himself with the entire black community behind him, would rather be in jail or dead. It is a sad day when a young person whose life is so full of hope and possibility decides that there is none.
